🌼🌿 Calling all gardeners! Keep your eyes peeled for a rare beauty this spring—the elusive pink daffodil! 🌸 The Royal Horticultural Society is on a mission to preserve this charming flower and needs your help to spot it.

The daffodil in question is the Mrs R O Backhouse, a lovely variety with coral pink trumpets and ivory petals. It’s been out of commercial cultivation for years, but the RHS is determined to bring it back. This is where you come in! If you happen across this pink gem in your garden, snap a pic and send it in. You might just help save this stunning flower from vanishing.

Join the RHS’s “daffodil diaries” by logging all the daffodil varieties you see. It’s a fantastic chance to contribute to the conservation of these beloved blooms. Last year saw an incredible 3,000 submissions from all corners of the UK, from the Scilly Isles to the Outer Hebrides.

Did you know? Daffodils are not just a sign of spring but also part of a captivating diversity of species adapting to climate change. And while yellow daffodils remain the crowd favourites, those rare pinks still hold a special place in our hearts.
Feeling lucky to have spotted a Mrs R O Backhouse? Share a bulb with the RHS and possibly aid in its cultivation at Wisley in Surrey. Together, we can help these rare varieties flourish once more!
Happy daffodil hunting, and let’s keep those gardens blooming vibrant and diverse! 🌷💚
