Jamie Payne, a 32-year-old dad from Cardiff, was caught with more than £1,000 worth of cocaine after a police raid on his home. The bust uncovered not just the Class A drugs but also cannabis (which he claimed was for personal use), £2,000 in cash, and a burner phone loaded with incriminating messages.

The raid, which took place on December 10 last year, also led cops to his car, where they found 24 bags of cocaine. Prosecutors revealed text messages detailing one-on-one deals, evidencing Payne’s involvement in the cocaine supply scene. During his arrest interview, Payne had little to say, choosing the classic “no comment” route.

His defence admitted that Payne got involved in dealing to clear off a drug debt, revealing he has a six-year-old daughter and struggles with health issues like COPD and asthma. With four prior convictions, mainly for motoring offences, things weren’t looking great for him in court.

Recorder Andrew Hammond handed down a 45-month prison sentence, sending a strong message about the consequences of drug dealing. 💥
