ππ Electric Adventure Across Europe! ππ

Ever wondered how electric vehicles (EVs) fare on long road trips across Europe? Well, we just took a Polestar 4 for a spin from the UK to Austria and discovered something that might surprise you!
Our journey spanned over 800 miles, taking us through picturesque France and efficient Germany, all the way to the stunning Zell am See in Austria for the FAT Ice Race. But the real highlight? European charging stations. They’re everywhere and surprisingly, much cheaper! We paid about 54c/kWh in France compared to 80p/kWh in the UK.

Setting off from a chilly Maidstone, we cruised through northern France, enjoying less crowded roads. Charging stops? A breeze. We seamlessly topped up our Polestar at supermarkets and sleek service stations, timed perfectly for breaks and coffee refuels.
Real-life range slightly differed, starting at 238 miles instead of the claimed 367. But with rapid charging stations aplenty, we were back on the road in no time. And those autobahns? A chance to test the Polestar’s top speed at 124mph! π
Though one charging hiccup happened at a busy service station, swapping cars was effortless. Our total driving cost? Just over Β£160 β not shabby for an adventure of this magnitude!
Key takeaway: EVs can make long journeys smoothly, but the UK has lessons to learn from Europeβs affordable, abundant charging networks. Fancy making the switch? ππ
