A shocking incident unfolded on a night out in Pembroke when DJ Simon Arnold-Giles attacked his girlfriend, Louise Mosley, after a heated argument. After a disagreement over their ride home, tensions escalated, and Arnold-Giles pursued Ms Mosley to a nearby car park. What happened next was truly terrifying: he violently threw her to the ground, repeatedly slamming her head against the concrete.

Even when Ms Mosley managed to escape, Arnold-Giles caught up with her, continuing the assault in a doorway. The ordeal didn’t end until they returned to Ms Mosley’s home, where the argument finally ceased, and (thankfully) she later ended the relationship.
The case reached Swansea Crown Court, where it was revealed that nearly a year later, Ms Mosley bravely reported the attack to the police, especially after Arnold-Giles had the audacity to accuse her of harassment. Despite his disturbing history of 12 convictions for various offences, including a previous domestic violence charge, Arnold-Giles pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Judge Huw Rees condemned his actions as “disgraceful,” stressing that Ms Mosley was fortunate not to have suffered more severe injuries. Although sentenced to 11 months in prison, the sentence was suspended for 12 months, coupled with a restraining order protecting Ms Mosley for the next three years. Additionally, Arnold-Giles must complete 15 rehabilitation days and 100 hours of unpaid work.
This serves as a stark reminder of the pervasive issue of domestic violence and the resilience of survivors who, like Ms Mosley, find the courage to stand up against their abusers. Stay safe and always reach out to support services if you or someone you know needs help.
