Tragic news for the Britain’s Got Talent community, as former semi-finalist Kerri-Anne Donaldson has passed away. Kerri-Anne, who dazzled audiences back in 2014 as part of the dance troupe Kings and Queens, died by suicide, as confirmed by a coroner.

The 38-year-old dancer was discovered at her home in Farnborough, Hampshire, on June 7, 2023, just a day after being discharged from the hospital. An inquest revealed that Kerri-Anne had faced a difficult few days following an arrest on suspicion of a child sex offence. She had denied the allegations, but the stress of the situation weighed heavily on her.

Three days before her passing, police took her in for questioning, only for her to go missing shortly after, before being found at a hotel in Woking. Rushed to St Peter’s Hospital in Surrey after an overdose, she was initially placed under a high-risk care plan. However, an assessment determined she was stable enough to return home on June 6.
Detective Constable Benjamin Harris, who led the investigation into the initial allegations, testified that there was no immediate indication of self-harm during her questioning. Still, the situation was complex, with conflicting statements about what was said prior to her arrest.
Sadly, despite these challenges, Kerri-Anne’s vibrant presence and immense talent will be deeply missed. It’s a stark reminder of the silent battles many face and the importance of reaching out for support.
