A teacher from a Welsh college has been banned indefinitely after sending inappropriate messages to students, repeatedly skirting professional boundaries. In a shocking revelation, Christopher Williams Davies referred to students as “sweet cheeks” and sent a series of messages with clear sexual undertones. He frequently expressed concerns about the messages being discovered, acknowledging the trouble he would face if others saw them. At one point, he cheekily tried to entice a student with a chocolate bar, layering the exchange with suggestions and requests for photos.

The panel hearing the case revealed that Davies sent these flirty and suggestive messages to two students, identified only as Learner A and Learner B, over a few months in 2023. His texts included statements like “I could look at you all day” and “You’re making me very hot under the collar,” leaving no doubt about the inappropriate nature of his conduct.

The committee, finding his actions to be a serious breach of professional standards, imposed a Prohibition Order. This means Davies’ name has been scrubbed from the Register of Education Practitioners, effectively ending his teaching career. He won’t be able to apply for reinstatement until 2028, leaving a significant gap in his professional record.
This incident emphasizes the importance of maintaining professional boundaries in education. It serves as a stern reminder that such misconduct not only breaches trust but can also lead to severe career consequences. Let’s keep our learning environments respectful and safe for everyone.
