It’s raining cats… at St Fagans Museum! 🎨🐾 Over the years, generous staff have become saviours to countless furry friends left at the museum’s massive 100-acre grounds. One hero is Michael Conway, who’s been crafting stones and caring for cats for over 45 years!

✨ Meet Onyx & Mabel: Recently rescued by Mr. Conway, these two adorable felines were found scared and hungry. With the rising cost of vet bills, many believe this unfortunate trend is due to pet owners being unable to afford care. A survey shows 59% of Welsh cat owners can’t take their cats to the vet as often as needed.– a staggering statistic!

🏠 While Onyx was suffering from ear polyps and required surgery, the pair wasn’t microchipped, adding to their woes. Thankfully, RozMogz Reborn Cat Rescue stepped in. Owned by the compassionate Roslynd Thomas, the rescue has given countless kitties a second chance. 🌈 “Last year, we rescued nearly 2,000 cats!” exclaimed Ms. Thomas, relying solely on donations for her life-saving work.

📈 Rising costs of veterinary services have discouraged owners from neutering or microchipping their pets, contributing to an alarming number of stray cats. With just 81% neutered in Wales now, compared to 87% in 2023, the figures point to a bigger problem that needs our attention.

🎉 The good news? Onyx’s surgery was a success! Yet, the rescue needs continuous support. Each FIV-positive cat requires a special £1,500 pen, making the operation costly. Ms. Thomas appeals for more contributors, noting, “Donors and volunteers are our lifeline.”

💓 Let’s rally together, raise awareness, and make a difference for these beautiful animals. After all, we need to be their voice and provide loving homes for our furry friends! 🐱❤️
