đ¨ Big shake-up for beer fans and workers in Wales and Cornwall! Molson Coors, the brewing giant that brings you favourites like Carling and Coors, has just dropped a bombshell. They’re planning to shut their Cardiff contact centre and Sharpâs Brewery in Cornwall by the end of the year. This decision puts around 200 jobs on the line.

Why the change? đ With almost 90% of pub and bar orders now made online, Molson Coors is focusing on digital sales channels and plans to handle customer service from their main hub in Burton upon Trent. Their UK and Ireland MD, Simon Kerry, said it’s part of their efforts to adapt to customersâ digital purchasing habits.

Sadly, the Sharpâs Brewery closure seems unavoidable after exploring all options to keep it running financially. Simon Kerry acknowledges the talented team behind Sharpâs, which has been part of their UK operations for 15 years. Itâs a tough shift, but necessary for the breweryâs efficiency, as they say.

These changes are still up for consultation, and Molson Coors pledges to support their staff through this uncertain time. Let’s hope all parties find the best possible outcome. đť#SupportLocal #BrewingChanges #MolsonCoors
