William and Kate’s annual St David’s Day visit to Wales was another unforgettable event! Despite the Welsh rain, the Prince and Princess of Wales lit up Powys on February 26th. Their visit was all about community, connecting with local groups and volunteers who braved the weather to meet them.

First stop was The Hanging Gardens in Llanidloes, where creativity and community spirit thrive. It’s a hub for sustainable living with a café, market, garden, and workshops. The couple enjoyed a warm drink, with Kate opting for a cappuccino while William chose tea, as they chatted with locals crafting festival signs in Welsh.

At the market, William sampled cider while the aroma of traditional Welsh stew and cakes filled the air, all in preparation for the upcoming St David’s Day. The couple’s day didn’t stop there—despite their busy schedule, they made time for an impromptu meeting with cheering crowds, umbrellas in hand, as they shared smiles, handshakes, and even some hugs with the fans, including little ones in Welsh costumes waving their flags with pride. William even spotted a group of children with an Aston Villa scarf—one sure way to catch his attention!
Their journey continued to the Oriel Davies art gallery in Newtown, where they admired artwork by local children and participated in a workshop. They also took the time to engage with a Welsh language learners group meeting at the gallery café.
Photos captured Kate’s delight as she received handmade jewellery from the children and their joyful interaction with a community choir. And let’s not forget the sea of daffodils, a nod to the national flower and the day’s spirit.
William and Kate’s visit was a true celebration of Welsh community and culture, showcasing what makes Wales so special, not dampened one bit by the weather! 🌧️🌼🤗 #WelshRoyalVisit #CommunitySpirit #StDavidsDay
