🚨 Breaking News: Arrest at Iconic Churchill Statue 🚨

Early Friday morning, passersby spotted red graffiti splattered across the famous Winston Churchill statue in Westminster’s Parliament Square. The bold words “Zionist war criminal,” “Stop the Genocide,” and “Free Palestine” stood out vividly on the bronze monument.

Met Police swiftly arrived, arresting a 38-year-old man on suspicion of racially aggravated criminal damage. He remains in custody while investigations continue.

Interestingly, responsibility has been claimed by Dutch group Free the Filton 24. An individual, Olax Outis, dressed in red overalls featuring “I support Palestine Action,” was seen in a circulating video allegedly defacing the statue. Outis explains the act was to shed light on what he describes as human rights violations by a “coloniser-run” country.
The Churchill statue, unveiled in 1973 and crafted by Ivor Roberts-Jones, has faced vandalism before, notably during a 2020 Black Lives Matter demonstration.
As clean-up work begins, the Greater London Authority expressed dismay over the damage, promising to restore the statue promptly. Whether you see it as an act of protest or vandalism, this incident stirs up discussions about history, politics, and accountability.
