Blair Murray is on a mission! The Welsh fullback admits it was tough being left out of the starting XV, but he’s more determined than ever to reclaim his spot. Known for his cunning footwork and blistering pace, Blair plans to show what sets him apart from the rest. Although he faced some challenges under the high ball in the autumn, the 24-year-old is eager to prove that size isn’t everything in rugby.

Blair, who was a regular fixture in the team last year with 14 consecutive appearances, faced a setback after being excluded from matches against England and France. Yet, despite recently battling injuries and fatigue, he’s training hard to regain his form and impress coach Steve Tandy.

“It’s tough, you always want to play for your country,” he shared. “But there are great players in the team. I’ve got to try to train well and earn my spot back.”
With the no-nonsense approach to escort runners and the competitiveness of international rugby, Blair is honing his skills to navigate the air duels better. He acknowledges that while his 5ft 8in stature might be seen as a disadvantage, he firmly believes rugby is for everyone, regardless of size.
“There’s definitely space for players like me in the international game. Just look at guys like Darcy Graham, who made the Lions tour!” Blair declares, confident in his unique strengths.
Next up, Blair hopes to make it to the squad for the crucial face-off against Ireland in Dublin. It’s all about proving his worth, winning the space, and ensuring he’s ready for the spotlight once again.
For Blair, it’s simple: rugby is still a game for all sizes, and he’s ready to make his mark. He’s determined to get back in the team and keen to show exactly what he can bring to the game. Let’s back Blair and see where this determination takes him! 🏉✨
