🚗💥 *Driving Disaster in Carmarthenshire!* 💥🚗

Here’s a story you won’t believe! A driving instructor in Carmarthenshire found himself on the wrong side of the law—and quite literally, the road—last Friday morning. Timothy Howells, a 54-year-old driving instructor from Burry Port, crashed his learner car into a ditch on the A484 between Kidwelly and Pembrey. He was supposed to be picking up a learner for a driving lesson, but instead, he had a lesson of his own: never drink and drive! 🍻🚫

When Dyfed-Powys Police arrived at the scene, they found the car, a well-known RED Driving School vehicle, lodged in a hedge. It was clear something wasn’t right as Howells appeared “heavily intoxicated.” 🚔 After being breathalysed at the station, he was found to have a whopping 132 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath—nearly four times over the legal limit!

The law wasn’t lenient—Howells was slapped with a 30-month driving ban. But, there’s a silver lining for him: this can be reduced by 30 weeks if he completes a compulsory driving course. On top of that, he received an eight-week suspended prison sentence.
RED Driving School, a prominent network across the UK, was asked about Howells’ future with the company but they’ve chosen to stay mum on the matter. 🤐
It’s a sobering reminder 🚨 for all drivers to be responsible and stay safe on the roads. Let this be a wake-up call: if you’ve been drinking, don’t get behind the wheel!
