🏆🎱 Unbelievable scenes at the Welsh Open final! Barry Hawkins triumphed over Jack Lisowski with a 9-5 victory after a truly ‘bizarre’ moment in the match.
During the intense showdown, the 11th frame witnessed an almost surreal stand-off. As Lisowski attempted an epic comeback, he and Hawkins found themselves in a meticulous safety battle that left fans and commentators both amused and bewildered. With the cue ball near the bottom cushion and cautious nudges aplenty, it felt like time stood still!
BBC commentators had a field day with light-hearted banter, with one joking about missing the last bus, while another asked, “What time is breakfast?”
Eventually, Lisowski broke the deadlock, potting a risky red, closing in on Hawkins. However, despite Lisowski’s efforts to narrow the gap, Hawkins’s consistent play and a fluke shot pushed him towards the win.
Lisowski managed to claim another frame, but Hawkins sealed the deal in frame 14, capturing the Welsh Open title.
