Nicholas Brace, 44, chalked up his uneasy stomach during the holidays to a bit too much festive feasting. But when nausea and discomfort turned into sharp pains, he knew it was time to head to A&E. The diagnosis? Secondary stomach cancer, stemming from a GIST tumour between his pancreas and stomach. Shocking news for the devoted dad of two, especially having been in remission from bowel cancer since 2023.

The Brace family from South Ockendon, Essex, are now in a race against time. With a treatment plan not fully available through the NHS, they’re pulling out all the stops to fundraise £8,000 for potential life-saving private treatment. This includes a PET scan, chemotherapy, or even possible surgery. Incredibly, their GoFundMe page has already crossed the £7,000 mark, thanks to the outstanding efforts of Nicholas’ daughters, Maddison and Megan. Sharing their story on social media, they’ve received massive support and have determinedly driven donations through heartfelt TikTok videos. 📹💖

“All this support has been mind-blowing,” says Nicholas, who’s also transformed his diet, now swearing by daily pomegranates and homemade meals whipped up by his wife, Laura. They’re leaving no stone unturned in the fight against cancer. 🍽️🍇

The family are determined to remain hopeful. “You’ve got to stay strong, keep active, and eat healthily,” Nicholas believes. “I’ve beaten this once; I will do it again.”

From family to friends and the wider community, the outpouring of love and contributions is nothing short of inspiring. As Maddison mentions, “Once we know our next steps, we’ll set clearer goals for any further donations.” But for now, the Brace family just wants to say thank you. 🙏

Keep sharing, keep caring, and if you can, please support their GoFundMe. Let’s rally around Nicholas! 💪
