It’s believed the incident occurred last week at the wind farm north of Brechfa village, roughly 15 miles from Carmarthen. The site boasts 28 turbines, each with an impressive 145-metre tip height and a 92-metre rotor diameter.

Natural Resources Wales (NRW) is on the case, ensuring the area is secured. Officers have set up signs, reminding visitors that access rights are temporarily limited to prevent any risk to the public. While the precise cause of the blade’s detachment remains a mystery, NRW has assured the public that the closure will remain in place until it’s completely safe again.

Images snapped at the scene show one of the turbines left with only two blades, a rather unusual sight! Until further notice, keep an eye on official updates as NRW works closely with the turbine’s operator, RWE, to get to the bottom of this unusual occurrence.
