🏉 Excitement is brewing as Wales U20s take on Ireland U20s in Cork for a thrilling Six Nations clash! It’s been eight years since Wales have claimed victory on Irish soil, but after their recent win against Scotland, they’re eager to build momentum and finish strong in the tournament.
Richard Whiffin’s lads are going full steam ahead, with a few strategic changes in the lineup for tonight’s big match. George Tuckley steps in as loosehead, Lloyd Lucas takes on fly-half duties, and Osian Darwin-Lewis fills the outside centre position. Plus, Carter Pritchard has a shot at earning his first cap from the bench!
However, the Irish team is no pushover. They’ve been a dominant force at Virgin Media Park, losing only twice in their 15 games there since 2019. They’re fresh off a victory against England and will be looking to maintain their streak.
Whiffin acknowledges the challenge, praising Ireland for their organisation and strong defence. But he believes in his squad’s unity and resilience. According to him, “We’ve put three good performances together…The challenge has been set for the boys, and we’re excited to see how they go.”
