⏰ Tax time alert! The end of the tax year is just around the corner, so make sure you’re not leaving any money on the table. Here’s what you need to do if you think you’ve paid too much or too little tax.

💼 HMRC usually sends a tax calculation letter (P800) or a Simple Assessment letter between June and March of the next tax year. This will let you know if you’re owed a refund or if you need to pay more. But, you’ll only get this letter if you’re employed or receiving a pension. If you’re self-employed, your tax bill will adjust automatically.

📬 Reasons you might receive one of these letters:
– Wrong tax code due to outdated income details.

– You switched jobs and were paid by both at once.
– You started getting a workplace pension.
– You received Employment and Support Allowance or Jobseeker’s Allowance.
📜 Don’t worry if you haven’t received a letter but suspect a tax over- or underpayment. You can take control:
– **To claim a refund:** Use the GOV.UK service online with your Government Gateway ID, use the HMRC app on your phone or send a request by post.
– **To pay owed tax:** Call HMRC at 0300 200 3300 or write to them at PAYE, HMRC, BX9 1AS. Include your full name, address, and National Insurance number.
