🚨 Scam Alert in DVLA Medicals 🚨

A shocking scam has surfaced as six individuals face trial for allegedly running a sneaky operation with Doctors on Wheels. These folks reportedly churned out dodgy medical exams for lorry, taxi, and bus licence renewals right from the back of vans! 💼🚚

The prosecution claims these “medicals” barely lasted a few minutes, with exams conducted by individuals lacking UK medical qualifications. To make matters worse, forms were signed off using real doctors’ details who were absent during the exams. 😳📝
According to the allegations, it wasn’t just the lack of proper checks; applicants sometimes weren’t even asked for ID! The whole scheme allegedly prioritised profits over public safety, a serious concern for everyone on the road.
The court was told this dubious affair wasn’t a recent find. Back in March 2019, the DVLA raised alarms, leading to a series of undercover operations by Swansea Council. Appointments were sneakily booked to see how the company operated and the findings were anything but reassuring.
Notably, tests supposed to include crucial health checks like blood pressure and vision tests were over before they began. For instance, one such “exam” clocked in at just over three minutes. ⏱️😱
Eburne, Cazacu, Geru, James, Platts, and Mosescu—each facing charges relating to fraudulent business practices—have all entered pleas of not guilty. Their trial in Swansea Crown Court is set to take over six weeks, holding the potential to shed more light on this alarming case.
