Gethin is now the proud Team Wales chef de mission for the upcoming Commonwealth Games. With a Master’s degree in Sports Directorship under his belt, he’s all set to bring his leadership skills to Glasgow this July.
Before becoming a familiar face on morning telly, Gethin was a promising rugby talent. He almost went pro after trials with Sale Sharks, but the TV world swept him off his feet, trading his scrum-half position for a presenter’s chair.
Reflecting on his rugby days, Gethin recalls the thrill of the pitch, especially his memorable win with Clwb Rygbi Cymry Caerdydd at the Principality Stadium. He even dazzled in a celebrity match, bagging the man of the match title!
Outside of sport, Gethin’s personal life has also caught headlines. The former engagement to sensational singer Katherine Jenkins is well-known. Their split in 2011 was tough, and Gethin has been candid about dealing with the heartbreak. Recently, he sparked buzz as he was seen with Sky Sports presenter Pien Meulensteen on a ski trip. 🏔️❤️
