🎬 Awkward TV Moment Alert! 🎬
Last year at the Cheltenham Festival, ITV had to cut the mic on an unexpected guest! 🏇 Former boxing champ Derek Chisora made a surprise appearance, but it wasn’t his stellar sports insight that caught viewers off-guard… it was his gambling advice!
Chisora was rubbing elbows with celebs like Jordan Pickford when he was asked who he’d back in the Brown Advisory Novices’ Chase. Seemingly confident, he urged everyone to go big on favourite Ballyburn with THAT iconic five-word tip: “Put your house on it!”
Well, that tip was a bust! 🤦♂️ Ballyburn stumbled to fifth place while 20/1 longshot Lecky Watson galloped to victory. 🏆
Presenter Oli Bell quickly stepped in to steer viewers away from following Chisora’s offbeat advice. After all, it’s probably best to get your racing tips from a more reliable source than a heavyweight boxer with 49 professional fights under his belt!
This isn’t the first time Chisora’s antics have turned heads – his unpredictable behaviour is as much a part of his brand as his boxing skills. He’s set to jump back in the ring next month against Deontay Wilder, aiming to bring the flair without the betting blunders! 🥊
Wonder what surprises this year’s festival has in store? 🤔
