Exciting changes are coming to Porthcawl! The beloved seaside town is transforming its old Hillsboro South Car Park into a stunning public space, part of a £1.3 million regeneration project. From March 20th, the car park will close to begin this incredible development.

What’s in store? Picture this: lush green spaces, vibrant pop-up business units, and a flexible events area perfect for markets and community gatherings. Plus, a nod to Porthcawl’s railway past with restored historic rail features. Active travel will be a breeze with improved pedestrian and cycling links, including a new toucan crossing for safety.

Councillor Neelo Farr shared her enthusiasm, stating that this project will make Porthcawl more accessible, welcoming, and environmentally friendly. It’s more than just a facelift—it’s a key piece in the town’s waterfront regeneration puzzle, bringing new housing, leisure, and community spaces to life.

This makeover is also set to boost biodiversity with playful wildflower plantings and enhance infrastructure with upgraded drainage systems. Keeping the Hillsboro North Car Park open means you can still visit easily during the transformation.
Stay tuned for updates as Porthcawl evolves into an even more vibrant and beautiful town for residents, businesses, and visitors alike! 🌿🚴♂️👷♀️
