🚧 **Potholed Paradise? Not Exactly… 🚧**

Pothole problems are on the rise in Bridgend County, with complaints jumping by a whopping 25% this winter! Despite the council’s efforts to patch up more than 5,400 potholes last year—over 100 a week—the bumpy roads continue to ruffle feathers.

Cllr Jon Paul Blundell highlighted the pothole predicament as the top concern in local inboxes. Responding to his queries, Cllr Eugene Caparros acknowledged a tough winter for road conditions, attributing the spike in complaints to the relentless wet weather. Did you know over 200,000 potholes have been tackled across Wales since April 2025? 🚜
But fear not, smoother roads could be on the horizon! Bridgend is investing £1.5m in a new public realm team to work on long-term fixes and an additional £1m into highways maintenance this year. New “hot box teams” will focus on more permanent repairs, so fingers crossed we’ll say goodbye to those moon-like craters soon! 🌕
