This heartfelt initiative is all about ensuring no one has to go through heartache alone. Since February 2024, they’ve been making a difference for families in Rhondda who’ve lost loved ones. With a team of dedicated counsellors and volunteers, Lean On Me offers everything from ‘Walks and Talks’, creative workshops, to 1-1 counselling and art therapy.

And it’s more than just help for the grieving—Lean On Me is building connections. Their Jessfest family fun day, held annually near Jesse’s birthday, attracts thousands to celebrate his kindness and positivity.

“The loss of Jesse was indescribable,” shares Claire. “Grief is different for everyone. We just want to make sure no one feels alone in those horrendous times.”

Shazia adds, “Our community has been incredible, standing with us every step. Jesse was always the one to support others, and we’re keeping that spirit alive.”

There’s no cure for grief, but Lean On Me is providing hope and support to families at their darkest moments. With the help of law firm Slater and Gordon, Jesse’s family has navigated the toughest times, and now, the charity signposts other families for specialist support too.

By creating a network of understanding and compassion, Lean On Me ensures that no one suffers in silence. From informal chats to structured therapy, they’re ready to lighten the load of anyone facing the unthinkable.
