🚗 Speed Limit Update in Rhondda Cynon Taf! 🚗
Big news for drivers in Rhondda Cynon Taf as 22 road stretches are set to revert from 20mph to 30mph! After a council review and a public notice which spurred 37 objections, council officers met with local councillors. With no councillor objections, the changes have been approved, dismissing the initial complaints. 🌐

– Hirwaun Industrial Estate
– Sardis Road in Pontypridd
– Coedcae Lane in Pontyclun
– Many more crucial routes!
Remember, September 2023 saw the Welsh Government introduce a default 20mph speed limit, sparking massive public debate (nearly 500,000 signed a petition!). The differing exceptions across Wales led to updated guidance for councils to reassess safety and appropriateness of these limits.
Rhondda Cynon Taf took up the challenge, reviewing 90 road locations after receiving a multitude of requests from residents and organisations. Councillors advocated maintaining the lower limit on four roads, but 22 will see the speed increase.
