A Porthcawl man, Jason Bailey, 48, has been sentenced to six years in prison for a harrowing sexual assault on a woman who was simply trying to do her job. Despite clear refusals, Bailey forcefully attacked the victim after she turned down his proposition for “no strings fun”. This horrific event left the victim in distress, blaming herself and struggling to deal with the traumatic aftermath. She described feeling overwhelmed and isolated, unable to perform day-to-day activities, and suffering from anxiety and depression.

Bailey’s crime was deemed an “opportunistic sexual attack” by Cardiff Crown Court. He now faces a lifetime of sex offender notification requirements, reflecting the gravity of his actions.

The impact on the victim’s life has been profound and long-lasting, highlighting the need for ongoing support for those affected by such traumatic events. This case serves as a stark reminder of the importance of respecting boundaries and the serious consequences when they are crossed.
