🔍 **The Mystery Smell Lingers in Newport!** 🌫️
Residents of several Newport suburbs have been battling a mystery smell for months, describing it as similar to “rotten eggs” or sewage. It’s turning daily life upside down—from disrupting bus waits, to ruining rugby matches, and forcing windows shut!
Colin Strong from Allt Yr Yn shares, “It’s unbearable at times, like a strong sewer smell!” Despite efforts, the source remains elusive, and locals have their theories—from landfill sites to the River Usk. An anonymous resident remarked, “I can’t even step outside. It’s that bad!”
The Newport City Council has been on the case since December, collaborating with various agencies to trace the elusive source. Local MS Natasha Asghar is urging authorities to step up: “We’re months in, and it’s affecting daily lives. We need answers!”
