Man Attempts to Surrender at Police Station, Denied Entry

In a bizarre turn of events, Anthony Edgell, 36, desperately tried to turn himself in at a Carmarthen police station after fleeing a car crash with cannabis worth £5,000 inside his vehicle. But the police had other plans, telling him to “come back during business hours”. When officers later raided his sister’s home, they found £1,000 worth of heroin, scales, and more drugs. After a hunt, Edgell was found with a wrap of cannabis, and a baggie of cocaine hidden in his clothes. His phone told a tale of dealing in a variety of drugs. Appearing at Cardiff Crown Court, Edgell pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including possession with intent to supply and driving without insurance or a licence. The judge slapped him with a 36-month sentence, adding to his lengthy record of 39 past convictions, including serious offences. Despite his recent hospitalisation for pneumonia and a long-standing drug addiction, the court wasn’t lenient. Edgell missed his opportunity to hand himself in, proving you can’t always plan your arrests around office hours! 🕒🚔 #CrimeNews #Carmarthen #CourtDrama
