🌟 Exciting news for Swansea! 🌟

There’s a big wave of change coming to education in Swansea with plans to build or transform eight schools! With a substantial £300m investment on the table, the projects are set to revamp educational spaces across the city. Here’s what’s in store:

🏫 The highlight? The proposed Ysgol Calon Lan in Morriston, a new special school designed to replace Ysgol Pen-y-Bryn and Ysgol Crug Glas, is expected to cost over £100m and offer 350 places.

📍 Meanwhile, Bishop Vaughan Catholic School is set to get a new home at the former Daniel James School site, pegged at £90.6m.
🔧 Refurbishments are also on the cards for Gowerton School (£47.2m), Ysgol Bryn Tawe (£33.2m), and the creation of an amalgamated Portmead/Blaenymaes primary (£25.5m).
🍎 Plus, Brynhyfryd primary will see a £2.6m upgrade, enhancing facilities to serve free school meals to all pupils.
The council aims to roll out these projects over five years, with a big portion of the funding coming from the Welsh Government. While some previous plans had delays, there’s optimism about this transformative programme moving forward smoothly.
📈 The finer details, including budget approvals, are still to be hashed out, and the council is working closely with the Welsh Government. Who’s excited to see these new learning spaces come to life?
Stay tuned for more updates on this educational makeover! 🎓✨
