✈️ Bridging the Digital Gap: easyJet’s Big Gesture! 📱

In an inspiring move to tackle digital poverty, easyJet has gifted a whopping £150k worth of iPads to children who lack access to digital tools. These 500 devices, once used by pilots and cabin crew, are on their way to students across the UK, thanks to easyJet’s partnership with the Digital Poverty Alliance.

Launched in 2021, this charity aims to eradicate digital poverty by 2030, and with easyJet signing the Digital Inclusion Charter, there’s a long-term commitment to keep these donations flowing. Studies show that one in five UK children lacks the tech needed for school. Many parents worry they can’t provide enough access to tech, affecting their child’s learning and development.
Opal Perry, easyJet’s Chief Technology Officer, stressed the urgency of the situation, warning of the risk of “leaving an entire generation behind.” With the digital world offering a pathway to opportunities in fields like AI, data analytics, and more, bridging this divide is crucial.
Elizabeth Anderson, CEO of the Digital Poverty Alliance, noted the huge impact these donations will have. With most parents believing digital access boosts educational engagement, these iPads truly are game-changers for young learners. 💡
Join us in celebrating easyJet’s efforts to ensure all young people have the tech they need to thrive in our ever-evolving digital age! 🙌🎓
