🚨 New Rubbish Fines Alert! 🚨

Heads up, Wales! Leaving rubbish next to an overflowing bin could hit you right in the pocket! BBC’s legal eagle Gary Rycroft spills the beans on new fines ranging from £65 to a whopping £500! 😱 And don’t think leaving your charity donations outside a shop is safe either. Yup, you heard that right! You could face fines just for trying to do a good deed if the bin is full.
Changes in waste regulations across England and Wales are introducing heftier penalties to tackle littering. Under new guidelines, local councils are cracking down, issuing more fixed penalty notices—which could be up to £2,500 if it goes to court. Gone are the days when fines were inconsistent, as authorities aim for transparency and consistency!

What offences? Think small, like cigarette butts, all the way to leaving items outside bins or charity shops. Our donation heroine got whacked with a fine for leaving bags by a full charity bin. Thankfully, after some media intervention, her fine was dropped. But why risk it? Take your stuff back home if the bin’s full and try again later!

🚫 Avoid Those Fines! 🚫
Rule of thumb? If that bin ain’t empty, take your rubbish—or donations—home. Leaving items outside, even for a good cause, is a no-go zone. Fly-tippers, beware: with talk of license points or even community service hours, there’s no escape for leaving giant waste items in the countryside.
Keep Wales clean, avoid the fines, and spread the word! 🌍💚 #CleanWales #FineFreeLife #ThinkBeforeYouLitter
