**Breaking News: Blaze in Kidwelly Leads to Roof Collapse!**
A dramatic incident unfolded in Kidwelly as a blaze ravaged a three-storey home on Lady Street. Witnesses were jolted awake at around 4am by an ominous bright orange glow. Fire services from across mid Wales, including teams from Kidwelly, Pontiets, and Llanelli, rushed to the scene.
The fire ignited on the top floor but quickly spread, leading to the collapse of the roof. Responding crews are battling the flames with the aid of water bowsers and an aerial turntable ladder. Thankfully, residents have been evacuated safely, but they describe the scene as “chaotic” with the sky lit up by the fire.
Dyfed-Powys Police have cordoned off the area, closing the road to all traffic. They urge drivers to steer clear and find alternate routes. For those displaced or in need of shelter, Carmarthen Leisure Centre and Canolfan Pentre Awel in Llanelli are open with resources available.
The fire appears to be under control now, but emergency services remain vigilant. Residents can reach out to Carmarthenshire County Council’s Housing Team on 01554 899389 for support.
