Exciting times ahead for Cardiff! This summer, we’re kicking off the construction of a £34 million health and wellbeing hub in Ely. Get ready for top-notch healthcare close to home! Once built, this state-of-the-art facility will bring a variety of services under one roof, making life a whole lot easier for the 15,000 residents of Ely and Caerau.

From GP and dental services to mental health support and family wellbeing, this hub has got it all. It’s a big win for the community, reducing the need to travel far for essential health services. Expect to find outpatient clinics, sexual health services, diabetic eye screenings, and even a stop smoking clinic—plus much more!

The hub is expected to open its doors by January 2028, transforming the landscape where a park and play area currently stand. Though not everyone was thrilled with the location, a petition against the loss of green space netted over 180 signatures.
Geoff Walsh from Cardiff and Vale University Health Board calls it a “major milestone.” This initiative aims to streamline services with social care and community offerings in collaboration with the Local Authority Hwb.
June marks the start of this transformative journey, bringing NHS care right to your doorstep. Keep an eye out for more updates as we watch this vision come to life! 🌟
