🚨 PIP Assessment Tips! 🚨

With changes coming to the DWP’s Personal Independence Payment (PIP) assessments, it’s time to get prepared! Face-to-face assessments are set to rise, so here’s what you should know. 🙌
💼 From April, many will transition from remote to in-person assessments. Whether your interview is by phone, video, or in-person, it’s your chance to discuss how your condition affects daily life. Remember, this isn’t a medical exam but a vital discussion about your needs.

📋 During your assessment, expect a qualified health professional to explore how your condition impacts you. They will forward their report to a DWP decision maker, so be thorough and honest in explaining your experiences.
🗣️ Tips:
– Practice discussing challenges, like mobility issues or difficulties with daily tasks.
– Be specific about “bad days” to paint an accurate picture.
– Prepare to answer questions or demonstrate simple tasks, but don’t feel pressured to do what you’re uncomfortable with.
– Take your time and explain how activities make you feel, especially if repeated over short periods.
📝 Things to remember:
– Have your PIP evidence form handy as a reference.
– Bring someone for support if it helps—you’re not alone!
– Check your assessment centre in advance: know if there’s suitable access, and request any additional help you might need (like an interpreter).
📍 If travelling to a centre is an issue, you can request an alternate location or home visit.
💡 Ready for the new rates? From April 6, here’s what you’ll receive:
– Daily Living: Enhanced £114.60 / Standard £76.70
– Mobility: Enhanced £80.00 / Standard £30.30
