🚀 Get ready for an out-of-this-world adventure! NASA’s Artemis II mission is set to make history as the first crewed trip to the Moon in 50 years! Mark your calendars for April 1, as the spacecraft prepares for liftoff from Kennedy Space Center, Florida. 🛰️
This incredible mission won’t land on the Moon but will instead take a ten-day journey around it. Aboard the Orion spacecraft, you’ll find NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen. 🌕
Orion will perform a unique “slingshot” manoeuvre, utilising lunar gravity to propel itself back to Earth, completing a full orbit of the Moon that includes a spectacular pass over its far side.
What makes Artemis II so important? It’s set to gather crucial data on space radiation and the lunar environment, laying the groundwork for future Mars exploration. 🌌
Stay tuned for more updates and let the countdown begin! 🚀🌙
