🚆 Important Update for Train Travellers! 🚆

Heads up, folks! New changes are rolling out for train ticket refunds starting next month. From 1st April, if you’ve got an anytime ticket, off-peak ticket, day travelcard, rover ticket, or ranger ticket and decide not to travel, you’ll need to request a refund by 11:59 pm the day before the ticket becomes valid. ⏰

Miss that deadline, and you can only get your money back if your service is delayed, cancelled, or something exceptional stops you from travelling. This shift aims to tackle fare evasion that’s costing the rail industry millions every year. 💸

The previous window of claiming refunds up to 28 days after travel is ending. These changes align with most other countries by making most day ticket sales non-refundable once they’re valid for travel. 🌍
But don’t worry if your train is cancelled or delayed, the option to claim a refund directly from the retailer you bought it from remains in place. Delay Repay is still around too—it applies if your train is late but you’ve already used your ticket.
Quick reminder: Refunds apply based on the purchase date. Bought your ticket before 1st April? The old rules still apply. ✅
Time to plan those train journeys with a bit more foresight! Got any questions or thoughts? Drop them in the comments. 👇
