A daring escape gone wrong! 🚔💦

In a drama worthy of a TV show, Kamber Murrja decided to make his great escape from the law by jumping over a garden wall and into the River Rhondda. But it turns out making a splash wasn’t part of the plan!
Caught cultivating a massive cannabis farm in Porth, the 24-year-old was spurred into the bold move after police arrived at the property. Alerted by suspicious wiring and unpaid rent, officers had discovered an impressive 400 cannabis plants inside, enough to make a garden centre blush.

With bodycam footage showing each room bursting with plants and lights, drone operators quickly spotted Murrja making his slippery getaway. But after a brief dip, he thought better of the river escape and, in a surprising twist, headed back to be arrested on the riverbank.
Murrja was taken to Merthyr Tydfil Magistrates’ Court where he held up his hands and pleaded guilty to cultivating cannabis. His riverside antics earned him a 30-week stay behind bars.

Police constable Dylan Baldwin praised the swift action of the officers and drone operators, emphasising the ongoing effort to crack down on drug supply lines in South Wales. “Every plant and every operation we disrupt makes our community a bit safer,” he said.
An action-packed day for the Rhondda police, and a huge reminder—crime just doesn’t pay… unless getting soaked is your thing! 🌿🚓
