Meet Michael Armstrong from Carmarthenshire, a real-life hero who spent an entire month under the stars, all for an incredible cause. From sleeping in a beer garden to braving the wet Welsh weather, Michael embraced this adventure to raise money and awareness for homeless British Army veterans.

Taking part in the Great Tommy Sleep Out by the Royal British Legion, Michael decided to go beyond the usual challenge of a few nights outdoors. This year, motivated by family ties to the Forces and the stories of veterans struggling on the streets, he opted for 31 consecutive nights outdoors. His nights involved bundling up in a sleeping bag after work at the Golden Lion pub, showcasing true commitment despite the rain and chill.

With around 6,000 UK veterans facing homelessness, the funds raised through this campaign are vital. They go towards providing emergency accommodation, mental health support, and employment training, aiming to give these veterans a brighter future.
Michael’s target is to raise £500, a contribution to the nationwide effort that has already brought in over £800,000. He said, “Some nights were rough, but it’s nothing compared to what many endure daily.”
Let’s cheer Michael on for this selfless act and spread the message about the pressing issue of veteran homelessness. Every penny helps bring change to lives that deserve our support. 🌟 #VeteransSupport #GreatTommySleepOut #HeroesAmongUs
