A Carmarthenshire man endured a brutal assault followed by chilling threats while recovering in hospital, as revealed in a gripping court session. It all began with a “familial dispute” that escalated into violence when Christian and Aaron Davies attacked a relative, Mr. Roberts, at his farm in the early morning hours of February 2024.

The confrontation began with a heated exchange over Facebook, when Christian Davies threatened to visit Mr. Roberts. True to his word, Christian, along with his cousin Aaron, arrived at the farm, where Mr. Roberts defensively smashed their van window with a hammer. The cousins retaliated viciously, leaving Mr. Roberts with severe injuries including a broken nose and eye wound.
Even during his hospital recovery, the torment continued. Christian Davies bombarded Mr. Roberts with abusive messages, making alarming threats about future encounters.

In court, Christian Davies, a 33-year-old from Llanelli, faced sentencing with a track record of past offenses, while his cousin Aaron, 23, had no prior convictions. Both pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm, getting their initial charge of grievous bodily harm reduced.
The sentences were a suspended 40-week term for Christian, paired with a £200 fine and a mandated rehabilitation course. Aaron received an eight-month suspended sentence and was assigned 200 hours of community service. Additionally, restraining orders have been placed, prohibiting any contact with Mr. Roberts for five years.
This case shines a spotlight on how heated disputes can spiral into unexpected violence and intimidation, leaving lasting impacts on the lives involved.
