Golf superstar Rory McIlroy kicked off his return to Augusta with an epic bang! Hosting the iconic Masters Champions Dinner, Rory threw the lavish bash to top all others with an eye-watering $25,000 bill on the table. Why so extravagant, you ask? Well, when you’ve just joined the legendary club of Masters winners, why not go all out!
Finally clinching the Masters title in 2025 after a nail-biting playoff against Justin Rose, Rory didn’t just earn a Green Jacket – he got the honour of organising this exclusive dinner, a tradition that dates back to Ben Hogan in 1952. This first-time host designed a mouth-watering menu featuring personal favourites like elk sliders, wagyu filet mignon, and sticky toffee pudding, paying homage to his roots with dishes like traditional Irish champ.
How did the bill rack up so high? Rory went big with premium champagne and wines, with some bottles priced over £760 each. Add to that, scrumptious global cuisine and you have the priciest Champions Dinner yet, even topping past spreads like Scottie Scheffler’s and Hideki Matsuyama’s.
Despite a couple of notable absentees like Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson, the night was set to be unforgettable with 35 living Masters champions on the guest list.
As Rory put it himself, “It’s the most exclusive dinner club in all of sport, and we’re all lucky to be there.” With a lifetime invitation to this elite gathering now in the bag, this is just the first of many for Rory, even if future dinners might not reach this staggering price tag.
