🚗💥 Cardiff Residents Rally Against School Drop-Off Zone Plans!

Cardiff locals are fuming over council proposals for a temporary drop-off and collection point at Ysgol Gynradd Groes-Wen Primary School. The plan to create a managed zone with eight short-term parking spaces has sparked major controversy.
Residents living nearby argue that their estate’s narrow, traffic-calmed roads can’t handle the influx of school traffic. Concerns are surging over potential congestion, queuing, and safety risks for pedestrians during busy morning and afternoon periods. “This will negatively impact our ability to access homes safely,” one objector voiced.

Safety fears aren’t just about traffic but also pollution and noise, with many emphasising how vital it is to safeguard community tranquillity. Out of 33 public comments, 30 stand firmly against the proposal, with only three supporting the plans.

While some believe the plan could ease roadside parking issues and offer a safer alternative for parents and pupils, the overwhelming sentiment among local residents is one of objection. The idea might aim for order and safety, but convincing the community remains an uphill battle.
