🎸 Surprise Alert! Rock legend Robert Plant, the iconic voice of Led Zeppelin, made an unexpected stop in Cardiff recently! 🌟

During his visit, Plant popped by the world’s oldest record store, Spillers Records. The legendary rocker didn’t just flip through vinyl – a special plaque was unveiled, celebrating his immense contribution to music and his deep-rooted connection to Wales.

In a heartfelt nod, Plant praised Spillers as an “institution” and applauded independent record store owners. He revealed that the beautiful Welsh landscapes have always inspired his songwriting, with some of Led Zeppelin’s greatest hits born in a quaint Welsh cottage.

While wandering through Cardiff’s historic Morgan Arcade, Plant was nothing short of amazed, describing his time there as vibrant and full of discovery. And what’s a trip to Cardiff without a cheeky mention of grabbing a “pint of Brains”? 🍻
Spillers owner, Ashli Todd, shared their immense pride, emphasising Plant’s enduring passion for music and his support for record shops everywhere. This legendary visit coincides with Record Store Day 2026, a celebration of all things vinyl and independent.
To top it off, Plant joins an elite group of legends who’ve received the Record Store Legend award, standing shoulder to shoulder with icons like Elton John and Johnny Marr.
