🥊 Meet Conor McIntosh, the Port Talbot boxer who’s rewriting his own story! Just a few years ago, Conor was at a crossroads, battling alcohol addiction and fearing that his boxing dreams were over. But everything changed during a December 2021 Alcoholics Anonymous meeting, leading to a remarkable journey of transformation.
Facing challenges outside the ring, Conor decided enough was enough. “I promised my daughter, Bronagh, she’d never see me drunk,” he shared about his life-altering decision to quit drinking. Since then, this proud Welshman has remained sober, channeling newfound energy and focus into his boxing career.
Fast forward to now—Conor is preparing to step into the ring on April 17 at Glasgow’s OVO Hydro for a shot at the British and Commonwealth super-featherweight titles. With his unwavering discipline, he’s not only claimed the Welsh super-featherweight title in 2023 and the Celtic title last year, but he’s also earning his shot at British glory!
🎯 Conor’s motivation? His daughter Bronagh and a promise to himself that motivates him each day. Despite juggling a full-time job as a health and safety professional, Conor’s life has thrived under the guiding principles of discipline and determination, qualities that have dramatically improved his performance inside the ring.
He trains with former world champion Enzo Maccarinelli and sparred with two-time super-featherweight champ Joe Cordina—proof that hard work pays off! Though the undefeated Royston Barney-Smith is the favourite, Conor loves being the underdog. “I’ve never been in the home corner,” Conor says. “I believe in myself, and that’s all that matters.”
With his brother Morgan recently clinching a Welsh title, the McIntosh brothers are on a roll! Conor’s clearly ready to put it all on the line next week, believing it’s all part of his destiny.
So, send your support to Conor as he steps into the biggest fight of his life! Here’s to dreams, discipline, and the courage to change. 💪🥇 #Boxing #McIntoshBrothers #BritishTitle #NeverGiveUp
