🌿 Let’s Talk Rubbish at Horseshoe Falls 🌿

A dazzling gem in Wales, Horseshoe Falls in Llangollen, has sadly been tarnished by litter. Claire Thomas, a passionate nature lover from South Wales, was cycling through Denbighshire, eager to experience the charm of this iconic spot, famously crafted by Thomas Telford. But what she found was a bit of a mess—litter scattered everywhere, a sight that saddened her deeply.

Despite its breathtaking beauty drawing over 150,000 visitors each year, this stunning site struggles against the tide of rubbish left behind by its admirers. Determined to make a difference, Claire rolled up her sleeves and got to work, picking up litter and bagging it herself. Her efforts echo a call for more support in keeping this landmark pristine.
While Denbighshire Council provides bins at Llantysilio Green car park, Claire found none near the river’s slope, due to access issues. It’s clear there’s room for action, and Claire isn’t alone in hoping for more attention to this matter.
Rangers do their best by regularly gathering litter and promoting respect for the surroundings, reminding everyone that leaving rubbish isn’t just lazy—it’s against the law. They’re urging all visitors to embrace responsible tourism: take your litter home or use available bins. There’s no excuse for leaving your trash behind.
Horseshoe Falls is not just a sight to see; it’s a crucial entry to the UNESCO-listed Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and Llangollen Canal World Heritage Site. Let’s keep it beautiful and litter-free!
