“EasyJet flight leaves UK family stranded as 100 passengers miss boarding call”

✈️ Stranded in Milan! A family from Merseyside had their holiday plans derailed when their EasyJet flight took off without them and over 100 other passengers. Vicky Chapman, her partner Adam Hoijord, along with her son Fredrik, and other family members found themselves stuck at Milan Linate Airport. They had arrived with plenty of time to catch their flight back to Manchester, only to face massive delays at passport control. As a result, the plane departed as the crew approached the end of their working hours. 😩

EasyJet has since apologised, stating the delays were beyond their control due to Europe’s updated border checks. Passengers like Vicky were caught off-guard by the enhanced passport requirements, which include providing biometric information. The carrier is offering free flight transfers, but passengers will need to brace themselves for extended waits at border controls across Europe.

Vicky shared, “We got there early but were blocked at passport control. It was chaos—people were getting sick from the heat. We’ve now had to book an Airbnb and wait until Tuesday for a flight to Gatwick.”🛏️
