A gripping court case is unfolding as a man accused of murdering a young student has claimed, “they’ve got the wrong person.” Tragic news hit when 21-year-old Finbar Sullivan—son of acclaimed Welsh musician Christopher Sullivan—was found with a fatal stab wound in Primrose Hill, London. Fin, an aspiring filmmaker, dreamt of following in his grandfather’s cinematic footsteps, with hopes dashed after the tragic incident on April 7th.

The suspect, 27-year-old Oliuwadamilola Ogunyankinnu from Enfield, has been charged with the murder. Appearing in court, he emphatically denied the charges, saying, “I didn’t kill anybody, I didn’t stab anybody.” With details shared from the short hearing, District Judge Ashwinder Gill deemed the case too serious for the magistrates’ court, sending it to the Central Criminal Court.

Fin’s heartbroken father spoke of his son’s dreams and the unbearable loss, saying, “He’s my only son. He can never be replaced.” The Sullivan family now faces a future forever changed as they mourn a life full of potential cut short.

Ogunyankinnu remains in custody and is due to appear at the Old Bailey on Wednesday. Meanwhile, a 25-year-old previously arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has been released with no further action from the police.
