A packed minibus had a lucky escape in the Eryri National Park after careening off a winding country lane and ending up sideways against a tree. The incident occurred on the notoriously tricky route between Trefriw and Llyn Crafnant, a favourite spot for its stunning views.

Luckily, the tree halted the minibus’s descent further down the slope. None of the five passengers or the driver suffered serious injuries, though they did get quite a jolt before being offered a calming cuppa by nearby Airbnb hosts.

At around 5:30 pm, the slip set off lots of alarms, drawing a major emergency response from the fire brigade, ambulance services, and police. Even the Wales Air Ambulance swung into action, although it wasn’t needed in the end. Locals took to social media in a buzz of confusion, with one resident remarking on the constant sirens.
The road was promptly closed, cutting off the scenic Llyn Crafnant to many visitors. But, it wasn’t long before life returned to normal, with emergency services wrapping up swiftly after ensuring everyone’s safety.
The narrow, twisty roads leading to the captivating Llyn Crafnant are often a challenge for drivers, but they do promise an adventure and some breathtaking scenery. Stay safe if you’re planning a visit! 🚐🌲
