🎬 Farewell to a Swansea Landmark 🎬

After a decade of screenings and creating unforgettable memories, Cinema & Co will be closing its doors later this year. Owner Anna Redfern announced that her beloved indie film house, live venue, and gallery space in Swansea city centre is set to join the growing list of local businesses unable to sustain operations.

With heartfelt words shared on Facebook, Anna expressed the difficulty of this decision: “Every story has an ending. After 10 years, I’ve decided not to renew the lease. It’s been a challenging journey to run this space ethically, personally, and financially, but current conditions make it impossible.”
Many locals have already voiced their support, lamenting the closure of this iconic venue. “It’s going to be quite weird not seeing Cinema & Co on the high street,” one supporter reflected. Despite the disappointment, there’s a silver lining: you still have a few months to enjoy its offerings. “If the cinema has ever meant something to you, come and be a part of it while you can,” Anna urged.
The closure also follows financial struggles after a legal dispute over breaching coronavirus regulations. Anna faced fines and a suspended sentence but remained unapologetic, standing by her actions as a matter of principle.
Cinema & Co isn’t just a venue; it’s a testament to the passion behind independent businesses. While its story is coming to an end, let’s cherish the memories and celebrate what it brought to our community.
🌟 Let’s make the last months memorable. Visit, support, and smile because it happened. 🌟
