🏉 Exciting News in Rugby! 🏉

Rhys Patchell, the former Wales outside-half, is making waves as he takes on a new coaching role! Patchell has been appointed as the attack coach for Benetton, Italy’s top rugby team, where he’ll reunite with former Wales boss Wayne Pivac. 🌟

Having been part of Steve Tandy’s backroom team, working primarily with the Dragons as a kicking coach, Patchell is ready for this new chapter in Italy. The 32-year-old brings incredible experience, including his time with the Scarlets, where he helped secure the old PRO12 title in 2017 under Pivac’s leadership.
In his own words, Patchell expressed his gratitude to Dragons RFC for the coaching start, saying, “All the players and staff have been very welcoming, and I’m grateful for the experiences and friendships built.” With eyes set on finishing the current season strongly with Dragons, his focus will soon shift to energising the Benetton team. “I’m thrilled to join Benetton Rugby. It’s an exciting opportunity to develop a game that excites our players, fans, and the entire city of Treviso,” he added.
Wayne Pivac couldn’t be happier to welcome Patchell on board, saying, “I’m really happy to be reunited with Rhys. We have the same vision of playing a style that excites both players and fans.”
Benetton is a formidable contender in the United Rugby Championship, and with Patchell’s expertise, their attacking game is set for thrilling heights. 🌍🏆
Wishing Rhys all the best in Italy – we’re sure he’ll leave a mark! 🍀
