Shocking news from South Wales: A deputy headteacher at Durand Primary School in Caldicot has been revealed as a sex offender. Anthony Moses, 48, was caught in an online sting operation after attempting to solicit inappropriate images from someone he believed to be a 14-year-old boy. This individual turned out to be a police decoy. Moses was handed a six-month suspended jail sentence and must complete community service and a rehabilitation programme.

The school has reassured parents that the offence isn’t linked to any of its students or the local community. They acted swiftly in collaboration with local authorities and law enforcement to address the situation, maintaining strict safeguarding procedures throughout the process.

The sentencing took place on April 13th, with Moses required to sign the sex offenders’ register and comply with a sexual harm prevention order for seven years. A council spokesperson emphasised the school’s commitment to pupil safety and the upholding of due process following the conclusion of the criminal proceedings.
