🏉 Wales Rugby star Joe Roberts breaks his silence on missing out on the Six Nations squad and he’s not letting it hold him back! Despite not being in Steve Tandy’s plans this year, Joe has been on fire for the Scarlets and is eyeing a comeback to the national team.
During last year’s games, Joe wowed us with his versatility, playing both centre and wing. But with new talents like Eddie James and Joe Hawkins shining, Joe found himself watching from the sidelines.
Instead of dwelling on the disappointment, Joe has seized the opportunity to shine on the club stage. With four tries in his last three league games, and a season tally making him the top scorer for his country in the URC, he’s making his statement loud and clear! 🔥
Reflecting on his journey, Roberts admits, “It’s been a mix of highs and lows. Missing out was tough, but it’s all swings and roundabouts. I’ve spoken with Steve Tandy and Matt Sherratt, and now I know what it takes to get back.” đź’Ş
This Saturday, Joe will be looking to add more tries to his name against Cardiff. The midfield competition is fierce with Johnny Williams and rising star Macs Page in the mix. But Joe welcomes the challenge, “Competition pushes us to perform better—it’s a driving force!”
Scarlets interim director of rugby, Nigel Davies, is thrilled with Joe’s recent performances and praises his speed and skill. “Joe’s been brilliant, showing what he’s capable of. It’s the kind of selection headache we welcome in a squad full of talented players.”
Can Joe’s determination lead to a Wales comeback? Stay tuned and keep supporting our local talent! #WalesRugby #Scarlets #RugbyUnion 🏉
